Swansea police appeal after woman is found injured

A 30-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after she was found with injuries to her head and body.

The incident happened in The Strand in Swansea sometime between 19:00 and 20:30 GMT on Monday.

South Wales Police said the woman is being treated at Morriston Hospital but her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The scene has been cordoned off for a forensic examination and police are appealing for witnesses to phone 101.

"We are still trying to establish how this young woman came by her injuries," said Detective Inspector Darren George of Swansea Central CID.

"From our enquiries so far, we do know that at the relevant time there were a number of people in the area, and I am appealing to them to come forward.

"They may well be holding information which could be vital for us to find out what happened."
