Halloween masked robbers target Spar store in Swansea

Three robbers wearing Halloween masks assaulted staff and escaped with cash from a shop in Swansea.

One of the shop workers at Spar in Waun Wen suffered facial injuries in the robbery at 22:45 BST on Saturday.

A wooden rolling pin used to threaten the staff was left behind, South Wales Police said.

The suspects, who also wore hooded tops, are believed to have left the scene in a dark Ford Focus. Police have appealed for information.

Officers said the incident happened in Carmarthen Road, with the suspects' car believed to have made off in the direction of Cwmbrwla.

Det Sgt Carl Price, of Swansea CID, said: "During the robbery one of the suspects left a wooden rolling pin at the scene which was used to threaten the staff.

"We are appealing to the public for any information in relation to this incident and to anyone who may have knowledge of the rolling pin left behind."

The force asked for anyone with information to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
