Farmers urged to check animals after cruelty case
Farmers have been warned to carry out proper checks on their animals following a case of sheep cruelty.
A farmer was prosecuted after Carmarthenshire animal welfare officers found an ewe and a lamb in a poor condition.
The carcasses of two other sheep were also found in the same field.
Carmarthenshire council said it was "vital" that animals were properly looked after and given prompt veterinary treatment.
Jim Jones from the council said: "It is vital that farmers take proper care of their animals - check them regularly.
"The council will prosecute when necessary to ensure that animals are properly looked after."
