Two people killed in A48 crash between Carmarthen and Crosshands named

Two people killed in a road crash in Carmarthenshire have been named.

Walford Bennett, 79, and his 77-year-old wife Daphne, from the Kidwelly area of Carmarthenshire, died when their car collided with another on the A48 on Friday.

The crash happened between Carmarthen and Crosshands at the Llanddarog junction just before 11:10 GMT.

Two other people have been treated for minor injuries.

The road between Carmarthen and Crosshands was closed for five hours with the eastbound carriageway reopening around 16:30 GMT.

Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for witnesses to call 101.
