Dinghy sailor, 63, rescued at Pembrokeshire beach dies
A sailor has died after getting into difficulty off the Pembrokeshire coast.
The 63-year-old man had been onboard a dinghy with two other men but all three ended up in the water at Newport beach, Dyfed-Powys Police said.
Milford Haven Coastguard was alerted at 18:35 BST on Wednesday and two lifeboats and an RAF Sea King helicopter were launched.
The injured sailor was taken to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, but later died.
"Three men were on board the dinghy and all three ended up in the water and in difficulty," a police spokesman said.
"Maritime and coastguard agency rescued the man from the water, but attempts to save him were unsuccessful."
