Appeal after body found on A48 in Carmarthenshire

Police are appealing for information after a man was found dead on the A48 near the National Botanic Garden of Wales in Carmarthenshire.

Officers were called to the eastbound carriageway at about 21:20 BST on Thursday following reports of a man walking on the road.

The section of road where the 30-year-old's body was found was closed through the night but has since reopened.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the man is believed to be from the Llanelli area.

"Upon arrival the male was found dead at the scene and several motorists had stopped to assist," a force spokesperson said.

"Dyfed-Powys Police are keen to speak to any motorists who may have witnessed an incident on the carriageway around this time."
