One of the main roads leading into Port Talbot has reopened following a "significant fire" at a Chinese takeaway.

The A48 Commercial Road was closed between Dyffryn Road and Constant Road after the blaze at Wok U Like.

One man, believed to be the occupier of the property, is being treated for smoke inhalation after trying to extinguish the fire himself.

Firefighters were called to the takeaway at about 12:30 GMT on Friday.

Two crews from Port Talbot, one from Neath, one from Morriston, Swansea, and an aerial ladder from Sketty were called.

A spokesman for Mid and West Fire and Rescue Service described the blaze as "significant". The damage was limited to the rear of the takeaway.
