A cinema, shops, restaurants, homes and a public square could be built on the site of a former shopping centre in Swansea.

A neighbouring multi-storey car park could also make way for the development at St David's and be replaced next to the leisure centre over the road.

The city's authority is set to approve its ambition for the site at a meeting on Tuesday.

It will then go on the market for developers to draw up plans.

Part of St David's shopping centre was previously pulled down and turned into a temporary car park.
