A student died after he lost control of his car on the A485 in Carmarthenshire, an inquest has heard.

Joshua Day, 18, crashed into an oncoming car after his Renault Clio crossed the carriageway near Alltwalis Hill in November 2014 .

His mother said she did not believe Mr Day had been speeding.

Carmarthenshire coroner Mark Layton concluded he died as a result of a road traffic collision but said it "wasn't clear" how he lost control of the car.

Mr Day's father told the hearing the family "wants something done about the road."

Collision investigator PC Gary Rees told the inquest no fatal accidents had occurred on the hill in the 10 years prior to Mr Day's crash.
