A raccoon has been found in a Swansea car park.

The animal, which has a collar but has not been microchipped, was found at Upper Fforest Way at Swansea Enterprise Park.

The RSPCA said the call was "quite unusual for us in Swansea" and "something you don't see every day".

The raccoon, which was growling but not vicious, has been transferred to a specialist centre while inquiries are made to find the owner.

RSPCA inspector Nic De Celis said: "It was initially thought that maybe someone had confused a badger with a raccoon. But it is indeed a raccoon.

"It is currently unknown if the raccoon is male or female... It seems to be likely an escapee."
