A balaclava-clad man brandished a knife and demanded money in two attempted robberies in Swansea.

They happened in Waun Wen, at Premier Stores, Caepistyll Street at 08:10 BST then Spar, Carmarthen Road, on Sunday.

Nothing was taken from the first shop after a shopkeeper stepped in but cash and tobacco was stolen from the Spar.

Police are looking for a man described as of chunky build, who was wearing a light coloured hooded top, and spoke with an Irish or Liverpudlian accent.
