Egypt unrest: A timeline of events leading to violence

Egypt has a long history of political unrest.

The recent bloodshed is the culmination of weeks of violence at the sites of two protests mounted by the Muslim Brotherhood of ousted President Mohammed Morsi.

The last two years have largely been a battle ground of reform and counter-reform.

Emily Maitlis explains some of the key events that have led to the increased violence in Egypt.
