Vladimir Putin meets Petro Poroshenko in France

For the first time since his election, Ukrainian President-elect Petro Poroshenko has met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

French officials said that during the informal talks, before lunch at D-Day celebrations, they agreed to hold discussions on a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine.

The latest reports say Ukrainian forces have launched a tank attack close to the rebel stronghold of Sloviansk.
