Egypt protests continue despite overnight curfew

Help

Protests and violence have continued overnight in Egypt as thousands defied curfews imposed by President Mohammed Morsi.

On Monday there were protests in three cities along the Suez Canal, despite the curfew and temporary state of emergency.

General Abdel Fattah el-Sissi has said the continuing unrest could bring about the collapse of the state, at great cost to future generations.

Dozens of people have been killed in five days of violent protests.

Aleem Maqbool reports from Suez.
