NYC steps up fight against smoking

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has signed landmark legislation banning the sale of tobacco products to anyone under the age of 21.

When the new law comes into force next May retailers will be also be banned from offering discounts. The minimum price for a pack of cigarettes will rise.
