Can Malawi survive without aid?

Around 40% of Malawi's budget comes from international aid but the country's relationship with donors is strained.

Financial support has been suspended more than once due to concerns over Malawi's human rights abuses and corruption.

Ahead of next week's elections, Chakuchanya Harawa looks at how debates around aid dominate Malawi's political scene.
