Nepal cabinet minister Sarita Giri sacked over licences

Nepal's Transport and Labour Minister Sarita Giri has been sacked after being accused of malpractice.

Ms Giri allegedly approved licences that failed to meet government standards for agencies recruiting Nepalese to work in foreign countries.

Corruption is seen as a widespread problem in Nepal.

Last month former Communications Minister Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta was sentenced to 18 months in prison for accumulating wealth beyond his means.
