China and Russia hold their largest-ever joint naval drills

China and Russia are holding their largest ever joint naval exercises in the Sea of Japan.

The Asia-Pacific region is a strategic focal point for many countries and such exercises are seen as a way for the two countries to improve their efforts at military cooperation.
