Are Australians really bad at sport?

Thrashed in the second Ashes test, and defeated on home soil by the British and Irish Lions, Australia is enduring a bleak time in international sports.

And the proud sporting nation could only manage tenth position behind Hungary and Italy on the medal table at last year's Olympics.

Phil Mercer reports from Sydney on the state of sport in Australia.
