US forces hold military exercises near Korean border

US forces have been carrying out live military drills in Cheorwon, South Korea, close to the border with North Korea.

The US says the operations are intended as a deterrent, but in the past North Korea has claimed they add to the ongoing tensions in the Korean Peninsula.
