Australians celebrate 90 years of Vegemite

25 October 2013 Last updated at 00:15 BST

Love it or hate it, Vegemite is an icon of Australian culture.

The yeast-based spread was launched in 1923, the same year construction began on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and since then more than 1bn jars have been sold.

Friday marks the brand's 90th birthday, so BBC News went out to see what people on the streets of Sydney think of the stuff.
