Philippines braces itself for arrival of Typhoon Haiyan

The Philippines is bracing itself for the arrival of its most powerful storm this year, due to make landfall on Friday.

Category five Typhoon Haiyan is the strongest storm to hit the Pacific region this year - and authorities say they are taking action to avoid extensive damage and casualties.
