Afghanistan landslide survivors fight over bread

4 May 2014 Last updated at 00:40 BST

Survivors of a landslide in Afghanistan that claimed the lives of up to 2,500 people are spending a second night in freezing conditions on an open hillside.

Some tents and blankets have been provided by aid agencies, following the disaster in the remote north-east province of Badakhshan.

But many people are struggling to cope, with fights breaking out over loaves of bread.

David Loyn reports.
