India's Uttar Pradesh still tense after religious clashes

30 July 2014 Last updated at 12:28 BST

The situation in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh continues to be tense following religious clashes in the town of Saharanpur a few days ago.

Three people died and several were injured in the violence.

An otherwise vibrant city has largely remained indoors even on the festival of Eid as a curfew was lifted for a few hours for people to offer prayers in nearby mosques.

Nitin Srivastava reports from the barricaded town.
