China death toll rises as rescuers hunt for survivors

Help

Rescuers in northwest China are searching for more than 1,100 people missing in huge mudslides that have killed more than 700 people.

At least three villages were levelled by an avalanche of mud and rocks triggered by heavy rains in a remote area of Gansu province in North-West China.

It is the worst flooding the country has suffered in a decade.
