Man arrested over Roscommon arson attack which killed girl

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with an arson attack at a house in Boyle, County Roscommon, in which a five-year-old girl was killed.

The fire was discovered in the house at Termon Road in the town on Monday morning.

A man in his 40s and two other children aged three and four, escaped from the house and were taken to hospital.

Irish police said a man was arrested in the Sligo area on Wednesday afternoon.
