Two men have been arrested by police investigating the murder of a Donegal man in Glasgow.

William McKeeney, who was from Malin Head, was attacked in the Pollokshields area of the city where he was living.

Police said the 57-year-old was subjected to a "sustained and violent" assault on his way home from a night out and left unconscious on the pavement.

Officers said Mr McKeeney's partner had been left "completely traumatised" by the death.

Mr McKeeney, who moved to Scotland from Donegal five years ago, was described as "extremely popular" and "well known" in the local community.
