Man charged over break-in at home of Alan Shatter

A man in his 20s has been charged in connection with the break-in at the home of Irish Justice Minister, Alan Shatter.

Mr Shatter's home in south Dublin was broken into at 23:30 GMT on Sunday.

A man was arrested a short time later. He was charged with burglary and is due before Dun Laoghaire District Court on Tuesday.

A second man, arrested on Monday, is still being questioned at Blackrock Garda Station.

Mr Shatter is currently in Australia as part of the St Patrick's Day celebrations.
