French shooting: Police lay siege to suspect's building

French police searching for a gunman who has shot dead seven people have laid siege to a flat in Toulouse.

The man, 24-year-old Mohammed Merah and a Frenchman of Algerian origin, has said he belongs to al-Qaeda and acted to "avenge Palestinian children".
