Man dies in Dublin hospital from gunshot wounds

Irish police have launched a murder investigation after a 35-year-old man was shot dead in Dublin.

He was brought to St James's Hospital in the south of the city with gunshot wounds about 19:00 GMT on Friday.

The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.

The car that was used to bring the man to hospital was found a short distance away in Cork Street. Police are examining the vehicle.
