Four viable bombs found by police in Dublin

The Irish army's bomb disposal team has defused four viable bombs that were found in north County Dublin.

The improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were discovered during a police operation on waste ground close to the Malahide Road on Monday.

Police cordoned off the area and called bomb disposal officers to the scene at about 14:20 GMT.

The IEDs were made safe without the need for a controlled explosion. They were taken away for examination.

The remains of the bombs will be handed over to police to assist their investigation.
