'Tainted cannabis' puts Louth women on life support

Two women in their 20s are seriously ill in hospital after consuming cannabis which Irish police believe was contaminated.

The condition of both women was reported to be life-threatening.

The women fell ill within hours of each other, one late on Tuesday night and the other early on Wednesday in County Louth, in the Republic of Ireland.

Both women remain in the intensive care unit of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, north of Dublin.
