Seven men charged with aggravated burglary at Tipperary home

Seven men have appeared at a special court sitting in Cashel, County Tipperary, in connection with an armed raid on a family home in the county earlier this week.

The men, all from Dublin, were charged with aggravated burglary.

They were arrested within six hours of allegedly gaining entry to the house in Killenaule through a front window on Thursday.

They were remanded in custody to appear in court again on 28 November.

Appearing at the special sitting of Cashel District Court were: John Joyce, 19, from Lentisk Lawn, Donaghmede, Dublin; Patrick Joyce, 21, from Beaumont Hall, Beaumont Woods, Dublin 9; Michael McDonagh, 22, from Tara Lawns, Belcamp Lane, Coolock, Dublin 5; Thomas Flynn,19, Moatview Avenue, Coolock, Dublin 5; Donal O'Hara, 21, from Glin Park, Coolock, Dublin 5; Dean Byrne, 21, from Cabra Park, Dublin 7; and Patrick Gately, 26, from Primrose Grove, Darndale, Dublin.

The men were questioned for three days and following consultations with the Director of Public Prosecutions they were charged on Saturday night.
