Calais: 'Wretched' conditions in migrant settlements

23 December 2013 Last updated at 17:44 GMT

Calais in northern France is home to many hundreds of illegal migrants who flock to the port in the hope of making their way to the UK.

Their situation continues to raise concern in both France and the UK.

Fergal Keane reports.
