Pair questioned about Irish passport fraud

Irish police investigating alleged irregularities at the passport office in Dublin have arrested two people.

The man and woman, who are both in their 30s, both work at the office at Molesworth Street in the city centre.

The woman has been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions, while the man remains in custody.

GardaĆ­ said the arrests were part of an ongoing investigation being conducted by the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation into fraudulently obtained Irish passports.
