Copenhagen: Noise pollution ruling in Denmark

Residents of Copenhagen have won a significant victory in a battle to prove that freedom from noise pollution is a human right.

Denmark's highest environmental tribunal has declared that the physical and psychological suffering caused by the sound of building work is unacceptable.

The ruling has left the authorities struggling to pacify angry residents as well as trying to complete the project on time.
