Dáil arrest: Man with sword and knives arrested at Irish parliament

A teenager who was carrying a sword and a number of knives has been arrested at the Irish parliament in Dublin.

The 19-year-old man was detained by police at the front plinth of Leinster House at about 16:30 BST on Tuesday.

A Garda (Irish police) spokesman said no-one was hurt in the incident and the teenager was arrested in possession of offensive weapons.

He has been taken to Pearse Street Garda station in Dublin city centre for questioning.
