Jersey abuse inquiry will be 'robust and fearless'

10 June 2014 Last updated at 13:10 BST

The Independent Jersey Care Inquiry is soon to begin hearings as part of the investigation into historic child abuse allegations in Jersey's care system. The committee says the proceedings will be "fair and open".

Jersey's long-running abuse scandal centres on the now close Haut de La Garenne care home.

The panel has renewed a worldwide appeal for past victims to come forward and have assured any witnesses they will be protected where appropriate.

Robert Hall reports.
