World Cup 2014: Germany prepares for victory parade

14 July 2014 Last updated at 22:24 BST

World Cup winners Germany have begun their long trip back home after beating Argentina in extra time.

Their victory was the first since the reunification of East and West Germany in the early 1990s.

Around a million people are expected to pack the centre of the German capital in Tuesday as part of the homecoming for the victorious squad.

The BBC's Steve Evans, who is in Berlin, has been watching how Germany has reacted to winning the World Cup for a fourth time.
