Ukraine launches 24 hour news channel

24 August 2014 Last updated at 09:03 BST

Ukraine is launching its first 24-hour English language news station, with a key aim of promoting the country's image abroad.

Ukraine Today has a clearly pro-Ukrainian - and pro-European - agenda.

The station's backers hope to counter what they claim is a Russian media campaign against Ukraine.

David Stern reports from Kiev.
