Caught on camera: Gun battle where pro-Kurdish lawyer is killed

A leading pro-Kurdish lawyer has been shot dead in south-eastern Turkey during a gun battle between police and unidentified gunmen.

Eyewitnesses said the lawyer, Tahir Elci, was giving a press statement, calling for peace between the Turkish security forces and Kurdish separatists.

Gunfire broke out, during which Mr Elci was shot in the head. A policeman was also killed.
