Pedestrian dies after being struck by car in Guernsey

A 74-year-old pedestrian has died after being struck by a car in Guernsey.

Edward Charles Lee was pronounced dead at the scene after the accident at North Quay about 1455 BST on Friday.

Guernsey Police said they are speaking to his family and were keen for witnesses to contact them.

A spokesman said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who saw a black VW Golf, which was driven from the Vale Castle prior to the incident."

Police said during the early stages of their investigation the road would remain closed while the Accident Investigation Team do their work.
