Events and attractions

Cine Guernsey is screening Tintin & the Mystery of the Golden Fleece (PG) - a French film from 1961, dubbed into English. The doors at the Frossard Theatre, Candie Gardens, open at 14:00 GMT with the film beginning half an hour later (Sun 8 Jan)

  • Goody Two Shoes is a pantomime being presented by Class Act at the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts. Performances begin at 19:30 GMT (Fri 13 - Sun 15 Jan)
  • Oddsocks Theatre Company presents its version of William Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor at St James (Mon 23 - Thu 26 Jan)

Exhibitions and arts

Guernsey's Greenhouse Gallery is hosting an exhibition of festive stamps, courtesy of Guernsey Post. The display is entitled "Post-Christmas", and is run by the Guernsey Arts Commission (until Tue 31 Jan)

  • The Guernsey Museum is displaying original watercolours from The Highgrove Florilegium, an exclusive book of pictures of the plants in the Prince of Wales' garden (until Sat 31 Dec)
  • Wildlife Photographer Of The Year returns with a display of shots from around the world at the Guernsey Museum & Art Gallery in Candie Gardens (Sat 28 Jan - Sun 25 March)


Late night shopping in St Peter Port on Thursdays until 21:00 GMT including street entertainers (Thu 8, Thu 15 and Thu 22 Dec)

  • A temporary ice rink is in place at Market Square in St Peter Port. Traditional Christmas stalls and music are provided, as well as the chance to do a bit of ice skating between 09:00 and 21:00 GMT (Fri 9 Dec 2011 - 04 Jan 2012)
  • Multi-sport venue Footes Lane plays host to a number of Saturday fixtures right through until April 2012. The newly-formed Guernsey Football Club play their first ever season in division one of the Combined Counties League and the Guernsey Rugby Football Club play in London One South, having been promoted from London Two South West in the 2010-11 season.
  • Guernsey's annual Santa Fun Run sets off from Pembroke Beach car park, with hundreds of Santa lookalikes raising money for a good cause (Sun 18 Dec)


Bands Courage Have Courage and She Haunts the Roads will be playing at the Fermain Tavern alongside DJ Four Q from 19:30 GMT (Sat 17 Dec)
