Guernsey deputies take politics to pupils

Guernsey politicians are visiting island schools to encourage pupils to take an interest in local politics.

Students have been quizzing deputies about their roles, the structure and procedure of the States and why it is important to take part in debate.

Deputy Alistair Langlois said: "They will have their own view of the way things work and the way they don't.

"But let's hope that they at least see that they have the opportunity to get involved and encourage them to use it."
