Woman jailed for bra drug smuggling bid in Guernsey

A woman who attempted to smuggle drugs into Guernsey in her bra has been sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Unemployed Kelly Davenport, 28, of Sedan Close in Salford, Greater Manchester, appeared before Guernsey's Royal Court on Thursday.

The court heard she travelled to the island with her seven-year-old daughter by ferry from Portsmouth on 8 December.

After being stopped she was found to be wearing two bras, between which was 505.43g (17.8oz) of cannabis resin.

The drugs had a potential resale value of between £10,108 and £15,162.
