Charity register is extended to Alderney

Charities and non-profit organisations in Alderney have been told they must register with Guernsey's Income Tax department after a change in the law.

Since 2008, any group based in Guernsey, Herm or Jethou with income of more than £5,000-a-year must register.

Now groups in Alderney will also have to register with the Director of Income Tax and provide certain details.

The law changed last week but those eligible have been given until 13 June to submit their application.
