Guernsey firefighters put out gorse fire

Firefighters tackle a gorse fire at Ladies Bay

A gorse fire at Ladies Bay was contained and put out by Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service.

Two fire appliances attended the blaze in the north of the island, which covered an area about 30m (100ft) by 10m (33ft).

Guernsey Police also attended the scene and said a member of the public had alerted the emergency services at about 1630 BST.

They said there had been no reported casualties.
