Alderney man held in custody on vehicle charges

An 18-year-old man has been remanded in custody after appearing in Alderney's court charged with several different vehicle offences.

The man, who has not been named, was charged with taking two vehicles without the owners' consent and driving while disqualified and uninsured.

He is also accused of driving without due care, failing to report an incident and driving at a dangerous speed.

He is due to appear in court again on 1 July.

Police said the charge followed investigations by detectives and forensic officers from Guernsey, helped by police in Alderney.
