Votes counted for new Alderney States President

Votes are being counted for the States of Alderney Presidential election.

Paul Arditti, Bill Simpson and Stuart Trought are all competing for the post. The result is expected on Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

Sir Norman Browse announced he was retiring from the post last month. He has been president since 2002.

The successful candidate will complete the remainder of the current term of office, which comes to an end in December 2012.
