Guernsey Police appeal to public over unexplained death

Guernsey Police have made an appeal for information after the unexplained death of a 48-year-old man in St Peter Port.

The man, who has not been named, was discovered in the early hours of Sunday morning on Park Lane.

Guernsey Ambulance and Rescue, the fire service and civil protection volunteers also attended the incident.

Det Ch Insp Ruari Hardy said: "If anyone did see anything strange or suspicious, please give us a call and we can get an officer to speak to you."

The period in which the police are particularly interested is between 2300 BST on Saturday night through until 0030 BST on Sunday morning.

A Home Office forensic pathologist was brought to Guernsey from the UK to examine the body.

Formal identification has yet to take place.
